To bring fresh, straight from the farm, pasture-raised and grass-fed, high quality meats to our clients, so they can enjoy well-marbled, flavorful, and health-conscious proteins that their friends and family will be talking about for years to come!
Cattle have high impacts to the soils and plant life in an area, which allows opportunity for trampling forage and consuming forage. When rotated right, there is a perfect blend of both and this allows plant regrowth to occur in as little as 21 days.
Bringing in our laying hens and meat broilers 2-5 days after the cattle have grazed an area allows the chickens to eat the pests, fly larvae, bugs, and parasites which then reduces the nuisance populations as we enter into the warmer months each season. Chickens also help distribute manure patties throughout the pasture allowing for increased natural fertilizer and eliminates the reliance of chemicals on our farm.
Although we raise animals, the most important resource we produce is grass and edible vegetation for our animals. The only way we can increase our production per acre is if we have great soil health, with optimal nutrient levels, encouraging good bacteria to grow, and increasing the earth worm and dung beetle populations. Soil biology is the first thing we focus on, and it's what has allowed us to graze further and further into winter each year before feeding hay.
There are more and more studies that are coming out that show how important animal stress levels are to the quality of beef. The more stressed an animal is, the tougher the meat. When animals are free to roam on pastures, without being confined to penned lots, those animals tend to have increased tenderness within those cuts of beef. When you combine that with high quality genetics, the result is something you'll never experience from a grocery store.
High in Omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, and antioxidants, 100% grass fed beef tends to result in a very high nutritional profile and adheres more to the natural diet of cattle. We are currently running multiple on farm tests to compare the genetic results based on multiple different breeds to continually improve our finished on grass genetics. With top genetics, and grass diversity in our pastures, every day our cattle are on pasture they are getting a blend of high protein legumes and nutrient dense forages. Everyone loves a steak, however our grass finished ground beef is one that our customers can't get enough of.
Cattle have been finished on grain for decades and it's what every customer of a high quality steakhouse in America expects when they take that first bite. The higher fat content from corn finished beef often results in a much higher marbling profile than grass finished, with a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Our focus is to deliver the highest quality steak eating experience, similar to what you would have at the top steakhouses in the country. Through many trials, we've developed a custom blend feeding program that allows our cattle to finish out within 120-160 days.
