Blake and Kayla Miller are a first generation farm family starting from the ground up. Neither grew up in a farm family, in fact, both grew up outside major metro areas - Houston, TX and Atlanta, GA. With a background in wealth management and business strategy, Blake always had a curiosity of different ways to be an entrepreneur and he enjoys the thrill of building a business from scratch. When 2020 hit and grocery store shelves went empty, Blake saw that as the perfect entry point to start building a farm and controlling the supply chain to secure his family's food. Over the course of the next two years, Blake spent time volunteering on the weekends at farms nearby, soaking up the knowledge and experience of local farmers just hoping to have his own farm and cattle operation one day. As the perfect amount of persistency and luck would have it, Blake and Kayla got their first farm in 2023 just outside of Gainesville, GA. It was a diamond in the rough, an old farm needing a lot of TLC that had been used to cut hay for the prior 10 years. It was the perfect project for Blake and Kayla to bring back to life and begin their new journey into land and animal stewardship. The Millers now have multiple properties in Gainesville and Jasper where they raise beef cattle and pastured chicken and eggs.

As Blake and Kayla started their journey into agriculture, they were 3 months into having a brand new baby boy. Although timing was not ideal to begin two major life changes at once, both were incredible blessing that have been able to flourish together since then. The Millers now have two young boys, with the oldest taking advantage of every opportunity to be out at the farm helping any way he can. The Millers strive to create an environment on the farm with their family that will last for generations.

If the ultimate goal of starting a farm was to raise premium beef, Blake and Kayla knew that all had to start with the right genetics. With Blake's background in finance and having a passion for data, the genetic and biological data was a new challenge that was gladly accepted. The first cow that Blake and Kayla purchased ended up being a home run, and she has now generated multiple daughters that are all being built around in the beef program.

We are all becoming more and more aware of what is in our food, how it is made, and the processes that are being used to grow, raise, ship, and deliver it to us. It's no secret that the industrial agriculture model is broken and disruption is required to change our current systems for the better.
Raising two young boys, we wanted to raise animals in a regenerative agriculture system without the use of antibiotics, vaccines, growth hormones, pesticides, herbicides, and the like. All of that may ultimately be fine, but I don't want to eat it and I don't want my kids to eat it.
The food that is grown on our farms is the same food we feed our family, and we want to grow enough so we can feed yours too. The Millers at Marble Creek Farms would love to be your local farmers.
